Is Tofurky Vegan?

The core of most Tofurky products is vital wheat gluten (seitan) combined with organic tofu, making soy and wheat the two major allergens to be aware of. The Holiday Roast with Wild Rice Stuffing and the Roast and Gravy kit are both vegan, including the gravy packet which uses baker's yeast extract and soy sauce for umami depth.

Deli slices come in several varieties (hickory smoked, peppered, oven roasted, smoked ham style, Italian, roasted turky) and all share the same wheat gluten and tofu base with vegetable seasonings. The Smoky Maple Bacon Tempeh is made from whole fermented soybeans, not a processed wheat protein blend.

Tofurky uses non-GMO soy throughout. There is a gluten-free chorizo product in the line for those avoiding wheat.

No product in the current lineup contains honey, eggs, dairy, gelatin, carmine, or any other animal-derived additive. The brand is sold across the US, Canada, and internationally with the same formulation.
